Facing a life-threatening illness can be an anxious and stressful
time whether you have a strong religious faith or not. The Chaplaincy
service is here to help support patients and relatives through this
difficult time by offering a friendly listening ear and whatever
appropriate spiritual or religious care is required, all in strict
coinfidence. The diagnosis of life-threatening illness often raises
all sorts of questions, such as questions about life, death, faith,
God, the afterlife, future plans and provisions.
The Chaplain is available and willing to spend time with both patients
and their relatives to help them work through such questions and
whatever fears or anxieties they may have.
Representatives from other religious communities are warmly welcomed.
There is also a small chapel at Michael Sobell House for the benefit
of patients and their families.
